Collecting intellectual prizes
Hey folks, I came across a tweet from Nick Huber that I wanted to share. It explains the situation most people find themselves in - collecting intellectual prizes without taking action. Nick's examples include following people you aspire to be like on Twitter, reading books, and listening to podcasts. These activities make us feel like we've accomplished something, but in reality, we're just collecting these prizes at the expense of actually building something tangible. I'm guilty of this too. It feels so good to finish a book or listen to a podcast that you immediately seek out another one for that dopamine hit. But this is not progress; it's procrastination. It's a hard pill to swallow, but we should all be biased toward action. Click here to read the full tweet.
Thanks for attending my TedTalk 😂.
