Clarity in Chaos

Clarity in Chaos

I've been away from writing here for a few months, but I'm excited to be back now. Writing this today was surprisingly enjoyable because it allowed me to vent a bit. Plus, my current favourite blog, wealest.com, has inspired me to pick up my pen again – or should I say, slam my keyboard again?

Today, I want to write about a quote I came across from Jordan Peterson in the Diary of a CEO podcast:

"If you want to know something about yourself, sit on your bed one night and ask yourself, 'What's one thing I'm doing wrong that I know I'm doing wrong, and that I could fix, and I would fix?' Meditate on that, and you'll get an answer – it won't be the one you want, but it'll be the necessary one."

This really struck a chord with me, and I bet it resonates with you too. In my case, I'm aware of a couple of things I've been sweeping under the carpet, things that need attention to unload the mental baggage that comes with them. However, I've been ignoring them either because they're tasks I have zero motivation for or things I'm scared of doing. Deep down, though, I know I need to tackle them to clear my mind. Speaking of being scared, there's another quote that just came to mind: "Everything you want is on the other side of fear." But let's save that for another day.

It amazes me why we often seek answers through various means and try to distract ourselves with different forms of media, friends, and family, while deep down, we already know what we need to do but choose to ignore it. Ever since I came across Jordan's quote, it has been etched in my mind, and I now strive to confront those challenges head-on instead of beating around the bush. I hope you do too.

Peace! ✌🏾
